Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; — Daniel 2:27-28 <KJV>

Daniel Summary

Daniel lived in the 6th Century BC. He was one of the Jewish captives taken to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar. Like Joseph before him, God’s Blessing and wisdom elevated him to the very pinnacle of power in both the Babylonian and later the Medo-Persian Empires.

He walked in complete obedience to God and weathered every storm and false accusation. His devotion to God was rewarded by supernatural wisdom and profound insight into future events and prophecies that are recorded in Daniel.

Daniel’s life proves that you can live a Godly life in a secular world. If you follow Daniel’s example, God will protect and prosper you too. God’s Blessing will be on you and you will be a blessing to everyone around you.

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.” — Daniel 6:3-5 <NIV>
